Fisherman rescue

Staff Reporter, July 27, 2022: Jackson Max, a 14-year-old Bibb County high school student, was camping with his parents, Brian and April McMillan, and younger brother, John Luke, at Foscue Creek Campground in Demopolis, Alabama on Saturday, April 16th, 2022. Jackson was outside with his dad and brother when he and his dad heard someone calling for help, and they observed someone in the water in distress. Jackson and his dad ran over and into the water, and Jackson held the individual's head up while his dad began to pull him out. His mom April came over and they formed a chain to rescue him. John Luke went to the individual's camper to notify his wife of the situation. Due to the alertness and bravery on the part of Jackson Max, to assist someone in danger, he was recognized with a certificate of appreciation at Foscue Creek Campground on July 22nd, 2022.
